Millions of people travel the countryside in RVs, and that shows no signs of slowing down. RVing leaves a smaller carbon footprint than traditional fly/hotel/drive vacations; plus, it's a lot more comfortable and convenient. Prospective RV buyers agree that RVing allows for more family togetherness, a less-expensive vacation, and a great way to avoid the illnesses travelers pick up in hotels and on cruise ships. If you've already got your RV, or if you'll be renting a rig for the trip, this book will show you how to choose the perfect trip for you or your family, and how to get there smoothly and easily. When you want to change your lifestyle entirely, you need to have enough motivation but you also need to have knowledge about the lifestyle that you are adopting. Many people who want to live in an RV full-time fail to find a balance in their lives which make that living pleasurable, while others can live the dream and learn to compromise on comforts for the sake of freedom. They wake up in the mornings to feel that they have breathed fresh air. They see different scenery every morning if they so wish. What you need to know before joining them is whether you're cut out for the lifestyle and what differences there are between living in a conventional home and living in an RV. This book bridges that gap in your knowledge, and although you may choose to save a fortune by staying at home, you may also choose the lesser travelled road and discover the benefits of living in an RV. Both lifestyles, either in an RV or a home, have their pros and cons. Many who choose the RV lifestyle find that adapting their lives comes naturally. It takes a unique and free spirited person to compromise on the luxuries of home living in favor of the adventurous lifestyle offered by RV living, though many do. Once you weigh the pros and cons, you can make the choice wisely, and that's what this book is all about. The book will appeal to the free spirited who seek something more than merely surviving month to month oppressed by mortgage payments and housing taxes. Both have benefits, though those who live the life they choose, rather than the life chosen for them by responsibility, find that RV life tests their personal boundaries and skills freeing up their lives to live beyond the grid. Journey with us and learn if living in an RV will suit you, and be prepared for the journey of your life.

In the late 1970s we ventured across the country from northern California to western Pennsylvania and back through Washington and Oregon in Steven's boxy old 1965 Chevy van. Those were the days, my friends. That trip had a lasting effect and over time we realized we were destined to be full time RVers. In 1995 we sold our house and a Recreational Vehicle became our home. An RV has been our home every since.

Smart RV Travel Guide For The Lower 48 States List of RV & National Parks, the Cost, the Amenities, What to See and Do in Each State Smart RV travel guide For the Continental 48 states is a three-year compilation of all the RV parks and National parks in each and every state in the continental US. I outlined all the amenities they offer, the actual cost to stay and so much more. We gathered this data from our last three trips across all 48 states. I also included what to see, where to visit and what they are famous for in each of the states. For each state, I created a detail travel plan that covers everything that is worth seeing along with where to stay while visiting that state. There are 48 chapters, each representing one individual state. Each state is divided into three categories. "Suggested RV trips" - this is where I outline what the main attractions are for each of the states including cities, next I name each and every RV parks, the amenities they offer and what the costs are. Finally, I discuss all the state parks in each state and what perks and goodies they offer along with actual costs. By profession, I was in instructional design, where I designed various commercial and industrial training modules and helped create mini-guides which are far from writing an RV travel guide. I am not qualified to write such guides, but after our 3rd around the country trips, my wife made a convincing argument that people like us could truly benefit from such guides which we didn't have when we first started traveling around our great country. It took me little over nine months to gather all the information and start writing. It is a no-fluff guide with no storytelling as I am good at writing fiction, so I didn't even try, I stayed with the facts and information that I know is helpful to everyone that is looking to take a trip around our good ole' USA. My wife and I were lucky enough to be able to retire at age 52. We both share one passion, and that is the beautiful wide open roads and to see this great vast country of ours. We were able to buy us gently used Class A Fleetwood Southwind for a very reasonable price. It is spacious, maybe a little too spacious for just two of us, but we love every bit of it. It drives beautifully, and the interior comfort is almost like a 5-star hotel. We both love living in it. We spend roughly five months out of the year on the road; we take a 2.5 month long trip around the lower half of the country during the spring, then another 2.5-3 month's long trip during late summer to early fall around the upper part of the country. Since we have been to each of the lower 48 states a dozen or so times and tried out various parks and amenities in every state. We have decided to share all our knowledge here with you. Enjoy the freedom of open roads.
