There is not much that I can't relate to in this life. I have been through abuse, divorce, betrayal, financial difficulties, military deployments, being fired, heartbreaks, death, suicidal thoughts, insecurity, anxiety, and temptations I have overcome and those I have failed. God has allowed me to be thrown into the fires of life several times. I never understood why when I was younger. I always felt that God hated me, or He was punishing me, or that I was less than other people. It wasn't until I broke free from going through religious motions and entering into a relationship with Jesus that I started to understand why I had to go through the fires I went through in this life. There is a reason you are going through the things you are going through. You are not just incurring pain for no reason. There is a story being written, there is a testimony being formed, and the difference between success or failure is learning how to get comfortable inside the fire. You must learn how to survive the fires of life. The only way to do this is by having the proper mind-set. Being victorious in the fire is a choice!

I love photography. I love digital. I love digital. Its what Id always wished for. Being in the camera and experiencing the astonishing accomplishment of the creations of life sparked through the beauty of the detailed startling power of the glass lens. A new German lens brings a mist to me. The colors and light I come to see through the beauty of the camera A love that lasts forever is the love of the lens of sharpness- of spirit warmth and depth and feeling. It makes my body pour emotion into the heartbeat of the world. A great trade and exchange. I think of the camera as my soul. Much like a guitar. My lovely Alpa has rosewood grips. What more could you need? Well- the pictures. Romanticism is exactly that: in Scotland, Denmark, Spain , Rome, china and Big Sur to name a few. The landscape and architecture that I find so fascinating. The trees and the wind billowing and dancing in Edinburgh reminding me of the storm I fell in love with in Cork. The perspectives and range of blacks and whites the perfect thing for a film noire fan. The joy of putting together a book of the best I have to give you in our exchange of viewpoints. The binding and the color and joy of working on this wondrous team again. I am very lucky to have access to what I see. Lou Reed was inducted into the RocknRoll Hall of Fame in 1996 and is a founding member of the legendary Velvet Underground. He has acted in and composed music for a number of films and is the recipient of the Chevalier Commander of Arts and Letters from the French Government. He is the author of Pass thru Fire and the play The Raven. Lou Reeds Romanticism is his third photo book after Emotion in Action and Lou Reeds New York which was also published by Edition 7L. Lou Reed lives in New York City.

""Shit happens, and it doesn't mean it's somebody's fault. And in the test flight of an airplane, shit often happens."" - Bombardier Experimental Test Pilot Eric Fiore On October 10, 2000, a Challenger 604 experimental test aircraft crashed on takeoff at Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport, dragging a wing, before turning into a fireball. Barely alive and suffering horrific burns, test pilot Eric Fiore was the only survivor hauled from the wreckage. He has asked his wife to promise him something. Based on actual events, "Flight through Fire" is an unforgettable love story centered on a deep devotion to aviation. Carol Fiore vividly describes the aftermath of the accident, the response of a billion dollar company and an entire Kansas town, the intense pressure placed on a hospital, the tragic realities of severe facial burns, the evolution of an eating disorder in her teenage daughter, and the raw emotional pain of her nonreligious family. Deftly interweaving the past and present, the author takes the reader on a wondrous adventure around the world with a complicated and passionate man who was born to be a pilot. Struggling with the horrors of his injuries, she confronts grief without religion, searching for strength in order to keep her promise to him. Insightful, brutally honest, and unexpectedly humorous, this is the story of what it takes to be a test pilot, and what it costs to love one.

Religion has left an undeniable mark in our world. Some see it as the answer to every problem, while others see it as the problem itself. Simply put, religion is the single greatest force in history. But in a much more intimate sense, what does religion mean to one life? In this honest, suspenseful, and moving memoir, author David Nasser tells of a life filled with heartbreak and healing. Forced to escape from a country gripped in a religious revolution, David and his family run for their lives in an attempt to find refuge. Through the lens of a terrified boy we see the destructive power of religion and the pull of peer pressure as he tries to fit into a new culture. Nasser's raw and transparent account of his transition from hating religion to having a living faith in Christ will impact readers from across the religious spectrum. His unflinchingly honest, yet humorous, assessment of the church from an outsider's point of view will both enlighten readers and spur them to renewed and refined outreach. For anyone who has seen the lie of religion, whether in Iran or Alabama or anywhere in between, Nasser offers the truth of Jesus.
