Diamonds or Rocks is about the awareness of your inner self because that is where we find the balance of our lives, and that is also where the origin of most of our problems is found. As kids we were very happy, yet it is in our childhoods that most of our problems started. Through this book you are going to learn that there are elements the author calls “rocks,” which are not a natural part of you, but due to your lack of awareness of them, they are harming you. They managed to get in your mind and take up residence there, and now these intruders have got to be stopped. Through the concept behind the book Diamonds or Rocks, you will gain the tools that have the power to get rid of them and stop the damage they are doing to you. The author says, “I may be the first human being to figure this out, but when you read this book you are going to realize that it all makes sense. These intruders are crushing your mind just like viruses and malware cause a computer to crash.” Diamonds or Rocks was created to be as simple as possible so anyone can take advantage of it and understand it. The book uses analogies through which you will be able to distinguish such an intrusion of these elements, or rocks.

A book of five short stories 1. "Oh threats of hell and hopes of paradise" 2. "One thing at least is certain, this life flies" 3. "One thing is certain and the rest is lies" 4. "The flower that once has blown forever dies" 5. "I sent my soul into the invisible some letter of the afterlife spell" My stories (five) are told in the first person and inspired by the "Rubaiyat" of Omar Khayyam, the twelfth century philosopher and Edgar Allen Poe. They tell of rape, murder, a philandering preacher, an engineer driven to the gates of insanity by his perfectionist ideals and a despondent professor attempting to leave his legacy by trying to prove Carl Jung's theory of the collective unconscious. I have been writing on these stories for a few years as the spirit would move me to write. When someone asks me what they are about, or to summarize them, my brain sort of goes into neutral and I really don't know where to start. I generally try to change the subject since I can't summarize in 4000 characters or less what I had for breakfast this morning. If the inquisitive person is persistent I simply offer to let them read the book and then they change the subject. Actually, after meditating upon the "Rubaiyat" of Omar Khayyam and wallowing his quatrains around in my mind for a while, I generally end up writing a little. I think I'm much like Omar; still trying to deduce what this thing we call "life" is all about! My stories touch on things from the simple life of an Appalachian Mountains sharecropper, a dubious country preacher, rape, murder, an arduous and unnecessary flight from justice, snakebites and miraculous healings, the lynching of an innocent black man, and subsistence farm life to, the complicated motives of brainy engineers and chemists attempting to leave their legacy to science by proving knowledge can be transmitted genetically; thereby, proving Carl Jung's theory of the collective unconscious to be valid. Then I looked him in the eyes and said. "Remember this Tommy. There is always something. If you can,t find it just know there is no such thing as bad luck or accident. All is Gods will. There is always something. Ask God. Know always, God helps." Yes, I know the answer to Tommys question. I accepted it initially without doubt. Gods heavenly spirit flows out into us all, with the truth. The Mystical experience will lead to the making of a new generation of Great Grandmasters. They will be Christ bearers, to the world in the future. Tommy must carry on. It was so ironic that Tommys father had been a top-notch policeman. Then Tommy had to watch his mother being killed by a policeman. What meaning, psychic or otherwise could I get from it? I guess the answer to that might lie in the fact that God is concerned about making our souls perfect. Tommy would need to gain the faith to make his limitations become possibilities and turn his fears into unconditional love. Years ago, I was training Tommys father, in martial arts and he asked me to ride with him from midnight till 8 AM. He was the only sheriffs deputy in the county, of 500 square miles, on the road. It was not like today when you dont pull up on a dangerous situation without backup. Bar fights, domestics, robberies, and what ever, you responded to alone. The tactics that Tommys father used, would get him fired today. We got a call that a boy had a gun and was shooting up a small town that had no police protection. Tommys father turned on his flashers and started to respond to the call. I could tell by the way he was driving that he was using his intuitive talents. All at once he hit the brakes, and pulled the car to the side of the road. He said. "You drive." I was not a sheriffs deputy and did not have any right to drive that vehicle. Tommys father wouldve been fired if the Sheriff found out. I drove, and he meditated. I knew Tommys father was heading for trouble not just by disobeying the rules, but also if anything went wrong, no one would believe his story. Tommys father would never be able to explain that he was using his sixth sense to link with the higher realms of perception, and God Almighty. He must have read my mind. He said to me. "I have to try to save that boys life! I am receiving an energy that is higher in vibration and totally spiritual. God Almighty has a reason for that boy to live." He picked up my coat that was laying in the back seat and put it on, covering his uniform. The boy was last seen on Main Street in the downtown area. Tommys dad directed me to turn and drive towards the school. As I did it came over the radio. Someone shot back at the kid, from an upstairs window. The kid ran towards the school. As we got close to the school Tommys father jumped out of the cruiser and ran towards the playground area. I followed on foot. I know that most people will not believe what Im about to say. Before the end of the story youll understand how this happened, because Tommy is so much like his dad, in reaching into the depths of the unknown. The boy pointed the gun at Tommys father. Tommys father said. "Im on your side. I come to fight the evil." The boy raised the gun pointing it. He fired over Tommys fathers left shoulder. Tommys father was walking towards the kid and did not stop. He said in a loving voice. "You got it! Put the gun down, your safe." Tommys father was staring into the eyes of the kid as he continued to walk towards him. The boy handed the gun to him. Tommys father placed his hand on the kids shoulder. I could see the healing energy of Ki or Spirit transfer to the young boy. We walked back to the cruiser, and the boy said, crying. "I dont know what happened. All I

Simone de Beauvoir's work has not often been associated with film studies. This is paradoxical when it is recognized that she was the first feminist thinker to inaugurate the concept of the gendered "othering" gaze. Moreover, other concepts associated with Beauvoirian existentialism such as ambiguity, gendered alienation, situated freedom, and woman as absolute Other are highly suggestive for reading screen culture. This book is an attempt to redress this balance and reopen the dialogue between Beauvoir's writings and film studies. The authors analyze a range of films, from directors including Claire Denis, Michael Haneke, Lucille Hadzihalilovic, Sam Mendes, and Sally Potter, by drawing from Beauvoir's key works such as The Second Sex (1949),The Ethics of Ambiguity (1947),and Old Age (1970). The breadth of this book demonstrates the extent to which "existential" themes transcend space and time, continue to resonate with contemporary stars and film directors, and add value and meaning to the basic questions about human existence, and the quest for "authenticity."

This candidly written autobiography of Sir Michael Kerr chronicles the life of one of Britains most prominent judges of the 70s and 80s from his Continental childhood up to his career in the Court of Appeal and beyond. In the first part of his memoir, the author traces his family history and Germanic roots. His father, Alfred Kerr, was a well-known dramatic critic and essayist, whose writings were widely known throughout Germany from the turn of the century and have recently seen a resurrection, 50 years after his death, as related in the last chapter of the book. But because of the fame of his anti-Nazi writings and broadcasts, the Kerrs were forced to flee from Berlin as early as 3 March 1933, when Hitler came to power. The author and his sister Judith, later to become a famous author of childrens books, had a relatively happy cosmopolitan childhood in Zurich, Paris, Nice and ultimately England. But their parents lives remained on the edge of poverty and sometimes despair and there was never again a family home. The memoirs then tell of his years at Aldenham School and the beginnings of Cambridge, and of his assimilation into the English way of life. They relate the story of his internment as an enemy alien in 1940 and of his subsequent release and service as a pilot in the Royal Air Force until the end of World War II. The author then returned to Cambridge to finish his law degree and was urged to go the Bar.The later chapters of this autobiography are mainly devoted to the law. They recount the authors career as a leading commercial Junior and then a Silk, his initial hesitations about the Bench, but ultimately culminating in his appointment as a Lord Justice of Appeal. He describes the Bar of the post-war decades and is frank about the frustrations and disappointments of his career. He also provides insights into the oddities of the English legal system, but maintaining throughout his firm belief in the importance of an independent Bar.

Should scientific congresses take place in connection with Olympic Games, and should science be represented not only in the form of applied science engaged in the care of athletes, but also as an informing, reflecting and critical authority? The Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXth Olympiad answered this question in the affirmative, and the results have justified this decision. The invitation sent out by the Organizing Committee was accepted by numerous eminent scholars and many participants from all over the world; it was their merit that the general topic of the congress could be discussed in manifold ways under various aspects and without prejudice. For this reason, they deserve our gratitude and appreciation. By now, the congress report has been completed. It is part of the total scientific concept which includes the preparatory publication, "The Scientific View of Sport Perspectives, Aspects, Issues", the congress itself and the present report; and, in close connection therewith, the exhibitions, "100 Years of German Excavation Work in Olympia", "Sport and Medicine" and the literary exhibition. It is to be hoped that this report will prove an important source of information and a stimulus for discussion among participants and scholars, students, teachers and coaches; and that it will safeguard the fruitful continuation of the work initiated by the Munich congress. Thanks are due to those who took pains in preparing this document. It will be an essential element within the framework of all that will remain of the Olympic Games of 1972.
