Information searching on the Web has become part of our everyday life. Efficient Information Searching on the Web deals with different aspects which are important to become a better searcher. To search for information is one of the most common occupations on the Web. We do it for work, for studies and in our spare time. We search for information about illnesses, far away countries or spare parts for the car. The Web is an important source of information, no matter if you are a journalist, a student, a university researcher or a teacher. Everybody can become more effective when it comes to searching for information. Central matters of the book are: How does a search engine work? How may the search services be used more efficiently? What is the invisible Web? How can the information be managed once it is found?

Enter the convergence of conspiratorial politics, spies, and special operations. In a twisted world of power players and skullduggery, a team of CIA contractors travel to South East Asia to investigate a series of bombings that have taken the lives of Delta Force members. When the mission goes dark, intelligence specialist Sean Havens is sent to the jungles of Burma with a war-torn Special Forces long-tabber to determine the missing soldiers' whereabouts. On the ground, Havens learns of an unlikely axis of Russia, China, and Iran that may have plans beyond illicit trafficking. But is this a ruse to mask a global financial market manipulation to fund elections and buy alliances? Can his mission support intel analyst Tanya Crowe put the pieces together first, or will she remain a liability as she struggles to prove herself in the field? Out of his element and looking to disrupt the looming global threats, Havens struggles to use his adaptability, guile, and tradecraft, as his personal losses wrestle for attention. His actions may have further consequences when the Shadow Masters learn of his meddling sending Havens again into the deadly game of secret societies and a New World Order. From Chicago and Fayetteville to Burma, Thailand, and New York, Death continues to follow Havens and those in his wake. Disclaimer: This does not constitute an official release of CIA information. This book throws new light on the complexity and variety of practices which may be defined as 'theatrical' in a broad sense in sixteenth- and seventeenth-century English drama. The volume deals first with the mainstream of dramatic production, starting from the anti-theatrical debate which characterized the whole period and increased in intensity as it went on. Here Shakespeare and Ben Jonson come on stage with their rejoinders to this issue. At the same time, while the universities were offering a kind of theatre workshop importing Latin and Italian models, popular performances were being staged in non-theatrical spaces. Tournaments, and their aristocratic codes, are explored as well as more popular and 'marginal' spectacles - such as those of conny-catching improvisers, jugglers, gypsy dancers and fortune-tellers, clowns and prophetesses.

Formal Theories in International Relations

This book, first published in 1989, gives a critical account of formal international relations theory. That formal and mathematical methods can be applied to the study of international relations is often regarded with surprise, but the author demonstrates not only how these methods give insights into problems such as deterrence or arms races but also that the increase in the power of explanatory tools depends on the more rigourous development of theory along these lines. Mathematical methods have been applied to the study of international behaviour since the pioneering work of Lewis Fry Richardson in the 1920s and 1930s. However, it was in the post Second World War period that they became widespread. Dr Nicholson discusses the application of such methods as the theory of games to problems of relationships between states, catastrophe theory to the study of initiation of violence, and probability theory to the question of the probability of nuclear war.

Despite the amazing strides made in information technology, communication processes are predominantly initiated and managed by humans for humans. This underscores the idea that it is the target of the process that is the center of all communication activities. The process fundamentally involves seeking answers to the cardinal questions of what to communicate, how to communicate it, when to do so and why. Many books and manuals have attempted to address some of these questions but not much attention has been directed at a systematic analysis of audiences before, during and after communication encounters. Many books also do not address audience classification, universals of audiences, special types of audiences and levels of audience analysis. This book addresses this and suggests that in order to do a good job in this part, it is necessary to view communication as skilled behavior, in view of this, the author has suggested some reflective activities at the and of each section. It is hoped that this activities generate more questions, debate and shit more attention to audiences as centers of all communication. There is a preface to the book outlining the importance of analyzing audiences. Chapter one looks at the generic aspects of audiences: categories of audiences, index of similarity /sameness, conception of effective communication, universal properties of audiences, special types of audiences and message classification. Chapter two addresses pertinent questions in audience analysis and chapter three looks at the levels of audience analysis. At the end of the book, the author has provided a list of terms as used in the text. The book is intended to meet the needs of diverse professionals in that all communicators have to deals with audiences on a day-to-day basis. The section on special audiences recognizes the fact that although there are many common factors in audiences, there are some special audiences whose features may call upon communicators to look more into the circumstances.
